NNDDA CEU EVENT: Paleolithic Diet @ UNR

NNDDA CEU Event featured guest speaker Dr. Sam Nourani who discussed the Paleolithic Diet presentation UNR for practioners and UNR/TMCC Students. The presentation was free for NNDDA members and UNR/TMCC students.

 

The Nevada Dietetic Association (NDA) will award scholarships for dietetic students/interns fromSouthern Nevadato cover registration for the entire meeting (value ~ $100). Scholarships for students/interns fromNorthern Nevadawill cover the meeting registration and partial expenses for travel (maximum allowable for travel is $200). (Scholarship recipients are responsible for finding the lowest possible airfare and for making their own plane reservation. They will not need to make hotel reservations as rooms to be shared with other students have been reserved.  They will submit receipts for airfare and be reimbursed by NDA after the meeting.)  Scholarship applications will be reviewed and winners selected by members of the NDA Executive Board.  Students or interns who areADAmembers and who have not previously received NDA annual meeting scholarships will be given priority consideration.

Applicant Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in the nutrition program at TMCC, UNLV, or UNR;  OR
• Currently completing a dietetic internship inNevada;  OR
• Recent graduate of nutrition program & in the process of applying for internship; OR
• Recent graduate of dietetic technician program or dietetic internship and waiting to take qualifying exam.

 Scholarship recipients must attend the entire conference and assist with conference duties such as packet preparation, registration, silent auction, cleanup, etc.

Application Due Date:  March 19, 2012  (Applications must be received by this date)

Attend the Chefs of the West! Rib Cookoff at the 2012 Western Regional Conference!   Hosted by the ACF High Sierra Chefs Association Bring your dancing boots, cowboy garb and dress for a fun and entertaining night of succulent ribs, micro brews and other BBQ fare during the Ice Breaker Reception at the ACF Western Regional Conference on March 11, 2012 in Reno, Nevada. The Chefs of the West Rib Cook-off will feature a competition for regional bragging rights among 10 chosen teams from Chapters in the ACF Western Region. The Teams will each prepare 100 pounds of St. Louis style pork ribs and any sauce or rub needed to produce the winner, which will be chosen by the attendees at the Ice Breaker. All ingredients will be supplied, as well as appropriate cooking equipment. Details will be supplied upon receipt of your Chapter’s application and acceptance into the competition. Proceeds from this fundraiser event will go to the Chef and Child Foundation, the Western Regional Youth Culinary Team and selected local charities.
